Company History

During the summer of 2024, Sophie and Rob decided to upgrade their solar power system in their Grand Design Imagine 3100RD. The salesman at the dealership where they purchased it, new, in 2022, was keen to point out the how the factory-installed solar panel kept the fridge cold and the battery charged, which it did, for a few months. Then one day the battery was dead. After several trips back to the dealership for warranty service, Sophie & Rob began to realize that the service technicians and department managers knew next to nothing about solar. One time Rob explained how to calibrate the battery monitor to the technician who then requested a copy of the user manual where Rob had learned the procedure! It wasn’t long after that when they had enough of dealing with these pros and decided to fix it themselves, which soon led to completely replacing the factory-installed solar panel, battery and MPPT charge controller with a much more capable, reliable and powerful major upgrade. They enjoyed researching the available gear options, choosing components and putting the system together, and learning about how to perform all the installation and configuration. That’s when they began cultivating a desire to share their joy of experiencing the freedom of boondocking with others by going into business for themselves as solar power system installers.
