About
Much has changed since Mary and Joseph set off across the country to Bethlehem with only a donkey. This was truly a humble beginning. Recreation vehicles were still a long way off.
We do know that Jesus was very SKILLful in his dealings with others. Many authorities tried to back him into a corner with their questions, but Jesus, calmly and patiently, saw through their scheme and many times would answer a question with his own question.
The truth is the Bible says very little on the subject of buying, or selling recreation vehicles. It does go in depth on being good stewards of our resources, our TIME, MONEY, and SKILLS.
TIME is the main reason we buy RV’s. To create memories and spend time with those we love.
I enjoy inspecting RVs mainly because of the interesting people I get to meet. I met a man who recently lost his father and wanted to take his mother across the country to see the sights that his father promised to show her. On another inspection I met parents that want their kids to grow up and learn while traveling and seeing God’s creation. My wife and I love RVing because it is the best way for us to spend time with our grandson.
Unfortunately we can’t save TIME. We have to spend it. You, no doubt, have been looking into better ways of spending your TIME in an RV.
MONEY
Buying an RV is a big investment. The common risk and cause of anxiety in any investments is that we don’t know what we don’t know. The entire RV Inspection industry has grown out of the need to protect RV buyers. This protection comes in the way of information. An inspection report gives you a tremendous advantage in the purchasing transaction. Armed with the inspection report you now have knowledge, and with that knowledge you can walk away from the deal or let the seller know what they need to do to get your business.
As a NRVIA Certified RV inspector, my goal is to use the SKILLs I have developed over years in the industry and put them to work for you. To spend 4-8 hours doing a thorough evaluation of the RV you are considering from top to bottom.
The best advice I could give you for buying an RV is to not be in a hurry. Up to this point you’ve spent countless hours narrowing your RV options down to just one RV. The seller might be compelled to get the deal done sooner than later, but you are in charge. You can still negotiate the price you want but make it contingent on the results of your independent inspector’s findings.
So would Jesus get a pre-purchase inspection? Probably not because he is all knowing. He created the world in 6 days and it was good. That is why we love traveling in RV’s. To see some of his creation.
But if man builds an RV in less than 6 days, It probably needs to be inspected just to be safe.
BIO: Hi There, My name is Scott Tye. I am a NRVIA Certified RV Inspector and Technician. Over my career I owned my own business for 22 years, spent 6 year inspecting homes for insurance companies. Flew airplanes for an aerial survey company.
My experience as a pilot taught me the most about preventive maintenance and checklists. When I was in the pilot's seat, I was responsible for the operation of the aircraft. I did my preflight inspections like my life depended on it. The mark of an experienced pilot, mechanic or inspector is looking at something and recognizing what is not there but should be.
Thanks,
Scott Tye
