About
Bill grew up in a suburb of Milwaukee WI. He came from a long line of engineers so it was not surprising he became one also. Bill received his BSEE from Montana State University which is located in Bozeman, MT (go Bobcats!). After graduation, he started his career designing military avionics where he was mentored by talented engineers who taught him the practical side of engineering. Bill’s interest in infrared technology development led him to a change and he begin to design IR cameras for a company called FLIR. The last phase of Bill’s career was developing medical endoscopic cameras for a German owned company in California. He retired in 2023 and started a new chapter as a NRVIA certified RV inspector, registered RV Technician, certified thermographer, RV generator Technician and solar designer/installer. Bill’s 40+ years on electrical engineering experience brings the technical skills necessary to systematically diagnose most RV problems or design an optimal solar system for clients. With nearly 20 years of design and development of military and civilian infrared camera technology, his vast experience will ensure that when thermal imaging used in the evaluation/diagnosis of your RV is done correctly. Bill is an RV maestro! He can do plumbing; renovations; mechanicals; wheel bearings; anything your home on wheels needs but my need was specifically electrical. I know he is used to modern, high-end fifth wheels with state-of-the-art solar/Lithium set-ups but my little mobile estate is a modest 1959 Shasta! Bill wasn't remotely phased and jumped straight in: I had a Victron Shunt installed AND an irritating shore-power mystery solved in less than 90 minutes. Brilliant! HIGHLY recommended!

After a year of battling electricity solutions enough to be able to stay in my burned out property with my new fifth wheel I hired an electrician genius, Bill Meyer's, owner of Safe Travels, who designed a system that lets me run my coffee machine, a microwave and washer dryer without running out of battery power; keep the water hot, lights on and power the satellite for some WiFi and entertainment - if I had to be off grid for another year (Palisades fire and still no infrastructure) I could do it now. The sense of independence is very satisfying. Day 2 and the batteries are fully charged in more ways than one !

Bill was recommended by Gemini and I was on my way of course. All kinds of problems. This dude figured in all out in minutes and saved my but. Now we will do lithium and more solar. So happy and truly saved me from the wrath of wife with no heat for the weekend. Thanks Bill! See you soon!

Convenient and successful
I bought a used r v from a private seller who did not have much experience and could not show me how many of the features of the r v worked. Bill was able to guide me through oil replacement and service for our generator and answer lots of questions regarding the solar panels, converters and inverters. Much appreciated.
