Jarrod Douglas is our Member, Certified Technician & Certified Inspector.  He grew up in Muhlenberg County.  His parents introduced him to RV'ing at an early age.  Jarrod's dad was known to re-paint and repair vehicles out of his shop at home in the evenings. Jarrod's father found a 32 foot Travel Trailer that was nearly new.  There was one issue, a fire.  A fire had only smoked the interior, and damaged only one piece of structure.  On this project, Jarrod was a little more help.  "My Dad loved a good deal, constantly bringing something home that most folks would never take a second look at."  The refrigerator had caught fire and also had to be replaced.  All the metal siding on one side, insulation, and some wiring needed replacement.  This unit was repaired and enjoyed for several years by Jarrod's Family.  It was traded off some years later.

Fast forward a few years. After several years of marriage to Amy, who he took to his senior prom, they decided to introduce their two children to camping.  Ashlynn and Amberlynn loved it!  Their first trip was with borrowed equipment.  Borrowed tent, dining canopy and some old items from the family storage and off they went to Hillman's Ferry in Land Between the Lakes.  The family was hooked.  When they arrived home, they began to accumulate their own tent and dining canopy, and upgrade a few accessories in preparation for the next trip.  As most campers do, they began to eye a potential family upgrade.  Jarrod being an experienced RVer with his family growing up, knew where they needed to be.  Amy, however, would have to go through the process.  Tent, Pop-up to travel trailer.  Many folks progress through these stages.  This family, June, July and August of the same year.  after a few upgrades and repairs, another upgrade was spotted.  This time, a gently used 32 ft bunkhouse travel trailer.  This unit is where the family settled in for a little while.

Along the way Jarrod, being a DIY kind of guy learned a tremendous amount about RV's.  Working on their units and helping friends and family with their units or helping them when they began to look for an RV.  He was always the guy in the group carrying tools and even a few extra parts.  This was in his blood, as it was something like his father would do.  Jarrod has assisted other RV'ers while on camping trips with Stabilizer jack replacement, tongue jack replacement, vent cover installation, toilet valve, power issues etc.

Jarrod spent over 10 years as a state government employee.  In 2004 he left employment with the state to go into business.  He has been a licensed insurance agent for 20 years.  He as owned his own agency, and worked with other agencies.  He has specialized in commercial agriculture.  At one time he held licenses in 4 different states.  His wife is a retired state employee.  Since 2015 they have also been commercial landlords. They continue to run that company together in Muhlenberg County. Their family is active in church.  Amy and Jarrod  are both active in their community and Jarrod has served as a city councilman.

Fast forward to near today...  RV Inspection Guy, LLC... After several friends and family getting advice and opinions on potential RV purchases or RV issues, Amy suggested that Jarrod look into opening another business doing something of the sort.  Jarrod had recently seen some information about the National RV Training Academy and some of the programs they offered.  After some thought and study, Jarrod elected to enter the Certified Inspector Program.  He traveled SOLO to Texas to complete a fundamentals course.  He discovered more than just RV knowledge.  A fantastic group of instructors, owner and administrators at this facility.  The first week was a fundamentals course that also yielded a bonus, a Registered RV Technician Certification.  A few months later he traveled back to Texas to complete the Certified Inspector Course and Certification by the NRVIA.  A few months later in July of 2022, he completed additional Training and passed the Certified RV Technician Exam.  He continued with an advanced class in RV Solar Install and RV Generators.

Since the initial training and certifications, Jarrod has continued his RV Education logging several hundred additional hours of RV Training.  On two different occasions Jarrod studied at the Lippert Technical Institute in Mishawaka, Indiana just outside Elkhart, Indiana where much of the world's RVs are manufactured.  He has also attended Victron Energy's Hands on Training in Atlanta.  In 2024, Jarrod attended Victron Energy Training with Off Grid Solutions in Custer, South Dakota, along with training with AirXcel on their AquaHot Hydonic Heating Systems in Denver, Colorado.  Additional Victron Training was completed in October 2024 with the Inverter Service Center in Tennessee.

February 2026, Jarrod traveled to Elkhart, Indiana. He studied at the RV Technical Institute. He achieved RVTI Level 1 Certification.

July 2026, Jarrod became a RVTAA Master Certified RV Technician.

I reached out with a problem on my RV with the slide not being powered like it should. He was timely in his response, worked with me on a date/time that I could meet him and communicated every step of the way. Not only did he fix the issue I was having but looked at a few safety things to make sure we were taken care of. Very professional, knowledgeable and would definitely recommend!

This is some of the best service I've ever received across ANY industry. Jarrod called me prior to, during, and after the inspection and found things I would never have found on my own. The inspection itself was incredibly thorough. Jarrod is extremely responsive and put me at ease, he is a pleasure to talk with, and I learned a great deal working with him. I'm going in to finalize my purchase feeling informed and empowered. I could not recommend this business more!

Jarrod, “The RV Inspection Guy”! Let me tell you what, if you ever need an inspection on your RV, repairs, or installing add-on components I would not hesitate to give Jarrod a call and set up a schedule. You will be getting a gentleman who goes beyond and takes tremendous pride in his work. The experience I had working with Jarrod with the coordination of an RV inspection I would look no further. If you are meticulous about your coach or buying, Jarrod will leave no stone unturned! I previously had Jarrod inspect a new 5th Wheel for me in Kentucky and I live in upstate NY. I was not considering hiring an inspector because I had been around enough RVs to go through it myself but then having to travel 910 miles one way and finding issues with the coach, I could be there for weeks! So, I found the RV Inspection Guy, set up the inspection date with the dealer and when the day arrived for the inspection the RV was not ready! To make a long story short we had to cancel not (1) but (3) inspections all because of a generator installation and the dealership did not have the parts they needed to complete it. It gets even better when the (4th) inspection was scheduled and Jarrod arrived to find the coach was sitting out back in the parking lot and still not completed and the dealership had no idea that Jarrod was to be there. You got to love this, and you can’t make this stuff up, but Jarrod got them to bring the coach out front and performed the inspection to the best of his abilities without the generator still not wired up and now waiting for the generator fire box. Through all this haze, Jarrod worked with me through all the postponements rescheduling his schedules to help accommodate me through the disorganization of the dealership, I can truly tell you that you will not find many people like Jarrod! Jarrod’s inspection is so detailed and documented in the report, you will be amazed. The check list has every imaginable part on a RV and documented with pictures and videos of its functions. You get 127 pages of detail you will not believe until you see it, and it makes you feel that you were inspecting the coach yourself. What a great document for your records of your RV. Just Amazing!
