About
Jarrod Douglas is our Member, Certified Technician & Certified Inspector. He grew up in Muhlenberg County. His parents introduced him to Rv'ing at an early age. Jarrod's dad was known to re-paint and repair vehicles out of his shop at home in the evenings. Jarrod's father found a 32 foot Travel Trailer that was nearly new. There was one issue, a fire. A fire had only smoked the interior, and damaged only one piece of structure. On this project, Jarrod was a little more help. "My Dad loved a good deal, constantly bringing something home that most folks would never take a second look at." The refrigerator had caught fire and also had to be replaced. All the metal siding on one side, insulation, and some wiring needed replacement. This unit was repaired and enjoyed for several years by Jarrod's Family. It was traded off some years later.
Fast forward a few years. After several years of marriage to Amy, who he took to his senior prom, they decided to introduce their two children to camping. Ashlynn and Amberlynn loved it! Their first trip was with borrowed equipment. Borrowed tent, dining canopy and some old items from the family storage and off they went to Hillman's Ferry in Land Between the Lakes. The family was hooked. When they arrived home, they began to accumulate their own tent and dining canopy, and upgrade a few accessories in preparation for the next trip. As most campers do, they began to eye a potential family upgrade. Jarrod being an experienced RVer with his family growing up, knew where they needed to be. Amy, however, would have to go through the process. Tent, Pop-up to travel trailer. Many folks progress through these stages. This family, June, July and August of the same year. after a few upgrades and repairs, another upgrade was spotted. This time, a gently used 32 ft bunkhouse travel trailer. This unit is where the family settled in for a little while.
Along the way Jarrod, being a DIY kind of guy learned a tremendous amount about RV's. Working on their units and helping friends and family with their units or helping them when they began to look for an RV. He was always the guy in the group carrying tools and even a few extra parts. This was in his blood, as it was something like his father would do. Jarrod has assisted other RV'ers while on camping trips with Stabilizer jack replacement, tongue jack replacement, vent cover installation, toilet valve, power issues etc.
Jarrod spent over 10 years as a state government employee. In 2004 he left employment with the state to go into business. He has been a licensed insurance agent for 20 years. He as owned his own agency, and worked with other agencies. He has specialized in commercial agriculture. At one time he held licenses in 4 different states. His wife is a retired state employee. Since 2015 they have also been commercial landlords. They continue to run that company together in Muhlenberg County. Their family is active in church. Amy and Jarrod are both active in their community and Jarrod has served as a city councilman.
Fast forward to near today... RV Inspection Guy, LLC... After several friends and family getting advice and opinions on potential RV purchases or RV issues, Amy suggested that Jarrod look into opening another business doing something of the sort. Jarrod had recently seen some information about the National RV Training Academy and some of the programs they offered. After some thought and study, Jarrod elected to enter the Certified Inspector Program. He traveled SOLO to Texas to complete a fundamentals course. He discovered more than just RV knowledge. A fantastic group of instructors, owner and administrators at this facility. The first week was a fundamentals course that also yielded a bonus, a Registered RV Technician Certification. A few months later he traveled back to Texas to complete the Certified Inspector Course and Certification by the NRVIA. A few months later in July of 2022, he completed additional Training and passed the Certified RV Technician Exam. He continued with an advanced class in RV Solar Install and RV Generators.
