About
Michael and his family have been RVing for over 20 years which has afforded them to share their love for the outdoors with their children, family, and friends. Michael is a Navy veteran and served as a Electronics Technician on two types of submarines. He also was a Level I Commercial Motor Vehicle Safety Alliance (DOT) inspector for the State of California for 10 years. With these experiences, becoming an RV inspector and technician was an easy transition into a new career.
From his submarine service to his career as a first responder, SAFETY has been at the forefront of Michael’s careers. The focus of an RV Inspection is the Life Safety items. The remainder of the inspection is to provide an unbiased third-party report to help a buyer make the most informed purchase possible.
Inspections can take approximately 8 hours and include a detailed analysis report with 80-100 photos. Fluid analysis is included with the premium inspection or an additional fee. Fluid Analysis – Complete report on any of the fluids in your motorhome, generator and/or tow vehicle.
For a complete inspection the RV will need to be hooked up to electrical power, water, sewer, and propane. If the unit is not fully hooked the inspector will mark those systems that can't be inspected as not checked. Remember, it can take a RV refrigerator up to 12 hours to reach working temperatures.
The inspectors do not drive the RV as part of the inspection. A motorized RV (Class A, B or C) will need to be started to verify that it starts and check the instrument cluster for normal operation and if oil samples are taken the engine and transmission will need to come up to operating temperature. It is preferred the seller and or seller representative be present to start the RV for this part of the inspection.
RV Maintenance – AC cleaning, winterizing, clearing debris from vents/awnings, battery checks and sealant checks.
New RV Walkthrough – This service can include a 2 hour walkthrough to help you learn how everything works in your new RV.
