Detailed RV Inspections

                When Derrick was a young boy, he was always curious about how things worked. He often would disassemble his toys to see how they worked and why they broke, sometimes he would get them working again. After high school it was clear to him that he needed to work with his hands, during this time he framed houses, worked on production machines and finally found a good fit, being a toolmaker/ model-maker building prototype parts and products. With a journeyman machining certification Derrick worked in many areas from automotive, aerospace, medical and sporting firearms all requiring attention to detail. Derrick has always been an outdoor person; he feels his best while out in the woods. Early in his life his family would camp in a Coleman tent, you know, one of the green ones and when they got a hand me down truck camper, a 1970's security traveler, they were high on the hog, well a lot has changed since then and RVs are much more comfortable and complicated.

                 In early 1992 Derrick joined the local volunteer fire department and soon became a certified firefighter and served his fellow city residents for 23 years finishing as the captain over all the equipment including the big red pumpers, oh yeah kids they are cool! During this time Derrick built two firefighting brush trucks out of two Ford trucks that were retired from the big city, those two are still in use today. Derrick thinks he would have made a career out of the fire service but the tool-making/model-making path seemed like a better fit, so he continued to volunteer and get the best of both worlds.

                Early in 2024 and after 27 years in the model-making world Derrick learned about the RV inspector program offered at the NRVTA in Athens, Texas and immediately knew that he could help people pursue their outdoor dreams and hence his mission statement was born, and he signed up for the classes and became a certified RV Inspector and a registered technician. Derrick still finds peace in the woods and his values are deeply rooted in Honesty, Integrity and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. Along with the NRVIA code of ethics and standards of practice, Derrick also knows he answers to a higher power and lives his life accordingly. Now this may not matter to you, but it is extremely important to Derrick. With all the crazy this world has it's nice to know that someone will treat you like family, that’s Derrick.
