In 2021, Derek decided to pursue his passion of working with RVs. He attended the National RV Training Academy (NRVTA) and became a Registered Technician and a Certified RV Inspector with the National Recreational Vehicle Inspectors Association (NRVIA). Now with the creation of Central PA RV Inspection & Consulting, Derek is ready to help you with your new or used RV! He will take care of you with the same thoroughness that he provided his family so that you, too, feel comfortable and confident in using and maintaining your RV. We ordered a new Alliance Avenue 5th wheel. As we live 300 miles from the dealership, we wanted it thoroughly inspected before bringing it home. Alliance has a pretty good reputation for quality RVs, but we weren't taking any chances. Hauling an RV 600 miles for warranty work is not desirable trip. Did I waste my money by having a new, factory-fresh RV inspected? I questioned this myself, but ultimately decided the cost of the inspection was a fraction of the RV's cost and it would be foolish to spend big money for the RV and cheap-out on making sure it was right. Well, Derek found damage to the roof of the RV that occurred after it left the factory. The damage was significant enough that we did not purchase the RV, though the dealership was willing to renegotiate our sales price. Nope! Not taking it at any price. I don't need a potentially leaky roof to haunt me in the future. If we didn't have the brand-new RV inspected, we would own a brand-new RV with a damaged and eventually leaking roof. I would have one day noticed the damage, but by then it would have been damage caused by me after it left the dealership and not covered by warranty, though I would know better. Derek saved the day and saved me from what could have been, years of aggravation and regret, We'll use Derek when we order a fresh Alliance in 2027. Even if we buy from a different dealership and have to pay hundreds in travel costs, it'll be Derek that performs the inspection. He is that good of an inspector, and a very knowledgeable mechanic who freely shares that knowledge. And he is a truly pleasant person. Have your used and new RVs inspected and have Derek do the inspection. Peace of mind is worth the cost of the inspection and if your RV is defective or damaged like the one we didn't purchase, you'll thank yourself for being extremely wise, rather than extremely frugal. An awesome experience! Our 1st review of this nature. It couldn’t have gone any smoother. The communication was all that we had hoped for. The inspection report was thorough and so much better than anything we could have done ourselves. We would have missed a significant number of items listed and wouldn’t have had the technical abilities to find/test numerous items. Thank you for a job Well Done

RV Pre-purchase Inspection
We are in the process of completing the purchase of our first RV travel trailer. In our case we selected a used 2024 Grand Design Imagine 23 LDE and recognized we wanted a pre-purchase inspection done on the unit to identify any major issues needing repair before taking delivery, as well just having a complete picture of the configuration and potential risk areas with this trailer down the road. We found Central PA RV Inspection & Consulting on rvhelp and decided Derek was a good fit for us based on strong past performance reviews...and it turned out to be a great choice! I met Derek at the dealer site right when they opened and spent the entire day observing the care taken and meticulousness of his inspection. I really appreciated Derek's thoroughness in assessing every aspect of onboard systems functionality, interior and exterior structure integrity, and trailer chassis and running gear. Since this is our first time as RV owners, I also greatly appreciated his willingness to let me "ride along" and ask questions and learn about the various features on the trailer and get advice on aspects of RV'ing in general. Overall, a great experience resulting a very detailed 115 pg report that will allow us to get a few bugs worked out before final delivery and have a solid starting point on the configuration and health of the trailer, as well as some practical pointers as we start this journey.

RV INSPECTION DONE RIGHT!
We started looking for a certified RV inspector several months prior to our unit being built. We "interviewed" several, but after speaking with Derek we knew we found the perfect person to ensure our unit was thoroughly inspected and any issues identified. Derek's professionalism throughout the entire process was TOP NOTCH! He effectively communicated with us as needed, prior, during and after the inspection. Making sure we understood every part of the process and answering all of our many questions. Inspection day was 6/3/26 and we received our report within the time frame specified. The 179 page report was very thorough and identified several items for the dealership to address prior to delivery. Derek's attention to details was amazing. I would swear he was inspecting our unit as if he were buying it for himself. Armed with the information provided in Derek's report my wife and I are comfortable moving forward with the purchase of the unit once the items are addressed to our satisfaction. We would not and will not hesitate to recommend Derek to anyone looking for RV support.

Super C Dynamax inspection
Excellent and very detailed, easy to understand report, with pictures. Would highly recommend Derek for your inspection! Very prompt in communications and getting the report to us. Very reasonable fee. Can't say enough about the experience!
