Chasin' The 70s Mobile RV
About
When Chasin' The 70's was founded, our mission was clear: to provide high-quality RV repair service. Founded by Steve and Laurie Walters, we bring over 40 years of combined experience serving our country and the state of Wyoming.
Steve’s journey began as a teenager when he joined the Marine Corps. After two combat missions, he returned home and pursued his passion for mechanics by attending the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando, Florida. Following his certification as a motorcycle technician, Steve’s dedication to service led him to join the Wyoming Army National Guard. For over two decades, Steve served as a helicopter mechanic, working one weekend a month and two weeks a year. His career then evolved to a full-time position, where he worked as both a helicopter mechanic and a ground vehicle mechanic. After 24 years of service and multiple combat missions, Steve retired from the Guard.
Laurie’s career also centered around service. She began working for the Wyoming Public Service Commission, and later transitioned to a legal assistant role for a fiber optic installation company in Denver. After the early 2000s .com bust, Laurie returned to Cheyenne, where she spent over 15 years with the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services.
Following Steve's retirement, the Walters made the bold decision to sell their house and almost everything they owned to pursue their dream of being full-time RVers. Their first stop was Texas to visit family, but soon after arrival, their refrigerator broke down. With no available mobile RV techs able to assist quickly, Steve took matters into his own hands and managed to repair the fridge. It was then that they discovered the National RV Training Academy.
Recognizing an opportunity to continue serving people, Steve decided to pursue certification as an RV technician. With his years of experience in maintaining high standards and continuous education, Steve became a certified RV technician through the National RV Training Academy. As the Academy states, “When you hire an RVTAA Certified RV Technician, you can be sure they are qualified. Certification helps ensure that RV technician professionals possess the essential knowledge and skills necessary to perform critical repairs as well as routine maintenance on RVs.”
At Chasin' The 70's, we take great pride in our commitment to ongoing training and certification, ensuring that Steve is always ready to tackle any issue your RV may face. Whether it’s routine maintenance or critical repairs, you can trust that your RV is in capable hands.
